Brenda Olsen, M.A.
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Brenda Olsen is a licensed clinical professional counselor and has been in private practice for over 25 years. Brenda specializes in helping people establish and maintain healthy emotional boundaries as a way to mature and transform relationships. She has a wide range of clinical experience with couples, individuals, families, group therapy, highly sensitive people, young adults in transition, co-dependency, self-esteem and issues associated with grief and loss. Brenda believes that telling your story in relationships where there is safety and connection can create more self awareness. Paying attention to themes, family of origin issues, and how the body has stored memory from these life experiences, can be transformative and lead to a clearer path to the true self. She has found that when people have more knowledge about their stories , they can begin to write a new script that contains kindness, care, and understanding.   Her practice includes work with extended family systems in the area of forgiveness and reconciliation.

In addition, she has taught both undergraduate and graduate school courses in a university setting and provides clinical supervision for therapists and interns entering the counseling profession. Brenda is sought after due to her warm and interactive approach to therapy.

Brenda is now an in-network provider with BCBS IL PPO.
