Nader Sahyouni has completed the certificate in Spiritual Direction at North Park Theological Seminary, and earned his M.A. in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. He is currently completing his Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation. In counseling Nader works with adults dealing with issues that keep them from growing in their spiritual life. He also works with a variety of other issues including career challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, and cultural adjustments. Nader has a passion for helping people navigate difficult times in a way that produces greater fruitfulness and fulfillment in their lives. In Spiritual Direction, Nader works with adults looking to discern God’s movement in their lives and deepen their relationship with Him. Nader works with people who are feeling stalled spiritually, or feeling God is far away and uninvolved. Nader will also be leading groups at Compass in 2017 with a focus on addressing how our wounds keep us from responding more fully to God’s invitations in our lives.
Prior to his education in Counseling and Spiritual Direction, Nader received a B.S. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University, where he later worked with research scientists for 7 years. Subsequently he took on various management roles for 20 years in the medical industry.
Nader is married and has four children. In his free time, he enjoys riding his bike, scooter or waver runner. He enjoys nature, family and friends, and inspirational writing.
