Kathy Gudonis has been a licensed clinical social worker since 2001. She received a Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and also completed several years of study toward a Master of Divinity at McCormick Theological Seminary, with an emphasis on pastoral care. She trained as a chaplain in a hospice setting, and has led bereavement support groups for both adults and children. Kathy also spent a decade as a school social worker in K-8 parochial schools, where her love of working with kids began. She has led retreats for both youth and adults, and has spoken extensively to community, church and parent groups on the topics of parenting, mental health, suicide prevention and spirituality.
Kathy’s passion is to help others navigate rough waters in their lives and experience healing and wholeness. Her sensitivity to people’s strengths as well as their challenges, and her openness to the role of faith and spirituality shape her practice. Kathy’s specialties include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, blended families, relationship issues and spiritual concerns. Kathy is married and has one daughter and two stepdaughters. As a certified yoga instructor, you will often find her “on the mat” teaching classes to both adults and children!
